The Museum of the Land of Israel is dedicated to the history and culture of the land, through its permanent and temporary exhibitions, which cover a wide range of subjects, such as archaeology, ethnography, folklore, Judaica, cultural history and local identity of the land’s inhabitants, as well as traditional artisanship and functional art.
The pavilions of the museum are scattered in a sprawling garden in the heart of the city of Tel Aviv. At the center of the garden is Tel Kasila (Kasila Mound), the site of extensive archaeological investigations that led to the discovery of valuable artifacts.
The museum houses ancient production facilities that have been restored and can be observed in action, among them a wine press, an oil press and a flour mill. Alongside these, there is an exhibit of the “artisans’ market,” displaying tools and artifacts that were typically found in the land of Israel.
In addition, the museum has an up-to-date planetarium, featuring the program “A Trip to Outer Space,” and the Museum's gift shop offers a selection of crafts and works of art, made in Israel.
