A short walk east from the Church of The bread and Fishes is the oldest church of St. Peter. This modest church made of black basalt and stands hundreds of feet from the shoreline of the Sea of Galilee. The church is also called "mansa cristie" (the messiah table), since a large rock was used as a table where he put Jesus bread and fish, waiting to dine with his students. That event Jesus asks Peter three times whether he loves him. Peter answered yes and Jesus said: "Herd my sheep", I mean the people, the humanity.Here , Peter, the eldest of his students (and hence the name of the church), received the leadership from Jesus after his departure
