A visit to Tel Aviv is not complete until you have checked out one of its fabulous beaches, which stretch out along the city’s boardwalk, from Jaffa to the Tel Aviv Port. No matter which beach you choose to visit, Gordon, Frishman, the Cliff, or Hilton Beach, you’ll find that the coast is beautiful and clean and, best of all, you’ll get the full beach experience: volleyball and paddleball, cyclers, Darbuka players ( Middle-Eastern goblet-shaped drum), outdoor public dances, and cafés. There are plenty of lots with pay-for parking, and entrance to the beach itself, which includes lifeguard services, changing rooms, and showers, is free of charge. The combined fee for beach chair and umbrella (as of summer 2012) is about NIS 20.
